I
hate being sick!
Starting
Monday night I picked up a cold, probably from the gym. I
hadn't been sick in a while and had to work 1/2 days from
home so that I wouldn't get anyone else sick in the process.
I am just now (Sunday) starting to get over this thing. I'm
jonesing to get back to the gym because I've missed a weeks
worth of workouts. Didn't even have the strength to work out
anyway -- especially knowing that doing so would have only
made me more sick.
Work
is going fine. I have one major project that I am working
on and hope to have it finished in a few weeks and ready for
certification. After that I'll have some time freed up so
I'll start taking on some new projects.
As
I said most of this week was spent resting so there isn't
much to add. I missed Church this weekend (didn't want to
get anyone else sick) but watched the feed online. Always
feel guilty when I can't make it, lol.
Anyway,
that's about it for this week. Hopefully I'll be 100% clear
of this cold by next weekend because it's Bx4'10! (haha).
Lots of good things planned with the BBQ and LIMO ride. I
am really looking forward to this. Hopefully we'll even have
time to catch a movie before we go. Lots of friends coming
too so it's going to be a great time!
Ok
have a great week. I will fill you in on more next MONDAY
because I'll be pretty busy next Sunday!
Week
ending FEB 7th, 2010
Hope
you had a great week!
My
week was fantastic, as always, woot! I'm just enjoying life
right now so I really have no complaints. And really, the
blog isn't to complain but more or less to share what's going
on (good and bad, right?!). So what is going on???
Well
to start it's been busy but fun because we have conferences
this week and next at work so there's been a lot of after-work
social activities going on. Tuesday we went to a Wine Tasting/Dinner/Jazz
party downtown which was a lot of fun. I met a lot of interesting
people, including an active duty Col. in the USMC. Of course
him and I had a fun conversation about what it means to be
a Marine. I don't think I've lost any of it. That special
comrade you have with other Marines never goes away. The party
was fun and yes, I stayed out of trouble. Friday I went out
with a friend and Saturday I took it easy and went to Church
(which was also great, btw!)!
Wednesday
we went to a local place for dinner and that was pretty fun
too. Lots of conversation about TV shows (which I don't watch
much, even though I have the new TV). One show I have been
watching is very much like a new and improved "Married
with Children" called "Modern Family" and it's
hilarious! I have never laughed so hard in my life. It stars
Ed O'Neil who played Al Bundy in the original "Married...with
Children" series. He's pretty much the same and every
bit as funny. It's good have ol' Al Bundy back, haha. (I'm
an honorable NO MAAM! member, lol).
I
did finally watch the "Transformers" movies this
week. They were way better than I thought they were going
to be. (I'm not sold on this whole "Meagan Fox is the
hottest thing ever" trip. Have you ever heard her talk?!
*rolleyes*) I don't know why Michael Bay gets so much slack.
He's a good Director and enjoys lots of explosions (translated:
Dude stuff)! haha. He did great on Pearl Harbor but so many
people criticized the movie for not being accurate. Why should
it be? It wasn't a documentary, it was fiction! I'm also really
enjoying being able to download movies from NetFlix on my
PC AND my TV! How cool is that?!
Well
today is Sunday and I am planning a little superbowl party.
I have a friend coming over so we'll watch the game, do a
little BBQ and then later her and I will watch a movie. Should
be fun!
Church
by the way is great. If you want to get a taste of what my
Pastor is like, go to horizon.org
and listen or watch some of the past sermons. Yes, I realize
I am asking my friends (some of whom are not Christians) to
watch a sermon. Just give it a chance! "Let he who has
ears hear!" You might be surprised that while a clear
message is being preached, it's without bias, being taught
completely from God's word with as little interpretation from
man as possible. And IMHO, that is exactly how Church should
be. All about God, all from God with very little interference
from men!
Ok,
I'm off that soapbox for now. MotoGP and WSBK testing has
started and I am excited. Hayden is a doing a "tad"
better than this time last year but he's not where I expected.
Of course Ben Spies is already tearing it up (and is faster
than Nicky) but we'll see where that goes. Nicky really does
need to have a come to grips meeting with the Ducati people
and figure out what is wrong with that bike -- aside from
just being a Ducati, haha. Nobody else but Stoner has been
able to handle it: Melandri, Capirossi and now Hayden -- and
these are not bad riders. It's gotta be the bike.
OH!
BX4('10) is all set. Got the limo reserved and everything
is all planned. Lots of RSVPs for this one so it should be
a fun and SAFE time for everyone. Can't wait to see my OC
friends. It's been a long time you guys.
That's
it for this week. Be safe, have fun and GO COLTS (Coz I can't
stand the Saints! LOL).
B.!
